National Honor Society
For fifty-five years, Cook County Schools has inducted students into the local “Shingobee Chapter” of the National Honor Society. To be selected, a student must demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
Continuing NHS members are seniors Sara Carman, Lily Gruber-Schulz, Bergen Soland, Madison Roy, Owen Anderson, Rory Bakke, Haylie Anderson, and junior Marin Hay. New members inducted this spring are senior Jocelin Deneweth; juniors Alyssa Martinson and Noah Roth; and sophomores Maya McHugh, Linnea Henrikson, Lucia Callender, Abigail Prom, and Daphne Lacina.  Each of these students has consistently shown exceptional accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

On April 27th there was an  Assembly for High School students (9-12 grades) that had been arranged by Sheriff Pat Eliasen. This presentation focused on Teen Alcohol and Drug Use, dangers of distracted and impaired driving and the lifetime effects decisions can have. All students had access to supportive services if needed during the presentation and in the days following. The event was recorded and will be posted as soon as it is ready for parents and community members. This is an excellent opportunity to speak with your child(ren) about the lifetime impacts decisions surrounding alcohol, drugs and distracted and impaired driving can make. If your child(ren) needs supportive services, please feel free to contact Anna Sandstrom or Kris Hoffman at 387-2271.
