Come enjoy the 6-12 grade bands Winter Concert at the Pam Taylor Gymnasium on December 3rd at 7:00 PM! Tickets are free; free will donations are accepted. All donations will go towards the students Chicago trip scheduled for 2021.

In celebration of Native American Heritage month (November), Sawtooth Mountain Kindergarten was presented with lessons of Southeast Alaskan Native and Ojibwe/Anishinaabe culture and art. Kindergarten had the opportunity of learning Southeast Alaskan Native culture and art from Kayle Hielscher. Miss Kayle lived in Metlakatla, Alaska home to the Tsimshian (shim-shee-un) tribe before working as a Special Education Teacher at Sawtooth. Students learned about the way of life in Alaska and experienced traditional items specific to Tsimshian people such as cedar roses, rings, earrings, and drums (Pictured is the drums made by Miss Kayle while in Alaska). Mrs. Hood shared with students regalia items specific to Anishinaabe people such as a jingle dress, beadwork, and moccasins. They were able to share in dance, ojibwe songs and stories.

Boys Basketball games scheduled for Monday Dec. 2nd vs. Lakeview Christian have been postponed due to no school in Duluth area. Games will be rescheduled.

Veteran's Day Concert. Monday, November 11th at 2pm High School Gymnasium Speaker: Theodore Rex Music by High School Band and High School Choir Open to everyone in community.

PTA FUNDRAISER PTA will be running a fundraiser until December 2nd to raise money for winter activities for students. Elementary students will be conducting direct sales and orders are eligible for free shipping. Orders will arrive week of December 16th. South Shore Drive Bus Route Update: Beginning November 7th the bus will again be going on the South Shore Drive to pick up and drop off students.

Woodland Sky Dancers performing for the Cook County Schools PK - 12 and Oshki Ogimaag. The performance included story telling, descriptions of the regalia, and traditional dances. The students were completely engaged and left with valuable lessons!

Sawtooth Mountain Elementary's Student Council Elections will be today in the ACA at 1:30.
